If you know me, you know The Walking Dead is one of my favorite shows. No judgement, but its on the Comfort Show list 🫣 I’m one of the fans that stuck it out until the end. Which means I was able to meet new characters, including Connie, who is played by Lauren Ridloff.
Lauren Ridloff isn’t an actress we grew up with. Her start in the industry began in 2018. She starred in “Children of a Lesser God” on Broadway. Coincidentally, her parents took her to see “Children of a Lesser God”, the film the Broadway play is based on. The film inspired Lauren. It allowed her to see an actress, Marlee Martin, who is also deaf and won an Oscar for the role.
In 2018, her role as Connie began in The Walking Dead. A year later, she would be cast in the Marvel movie, Eternals. Becoming the first Marvel deaf superhero. Before making history in the Marvel Universe, during her college years, Ridloff was named Miss Deaf America.
Check out her interview with Oprah during her press release time for Eternals.
I know this is only the beginning for Lauren Ridloff. I can’t wait to see what’s next on her list!
