The Reason for #riseofRosier

In eleven days, it will be six months since the first publication of #riseofRosier. Besides the main page, which is just a summary, I don’t think the purpose and reason of the site has been said:

My interest for writing arose sometime in elementary school when I would always get complimented on my assignments. Then my middle school years began, 6th grade to be exact. For the first 5-10 minutes of class, we had to respond to a question in our daily journals and sometime throughout the year we had a poetry unit. The love was unbreakable from that point on. I started to write poems in my free time. They were about my life, friends, love, and how I was feeling (see poetry page). For our mystery unit in 8th grade was the last time that I remember writing a story, poetry has just always stuck with me more. Towards the end of my high school years, creative writing was the major I intended to pursue. However, I had discouraging words thrown at me and I didn’t get into the schools that had the major. As a result, I went to school with an undeclared major. Eventually deciding on psychology. Looking back, I wish I would have tried to look harder and ignored those discouraging words. Writing was what I loved to do.

Now I’m here. To tell my story. To voice my opinions. To cause someone to view a situation in a different light. To thank people along the way who have helped get me this far and to remind myself that it’s not too late. Not too late to continue what I love to do and see what doors open for me behind it.
