COVID-19

When we were all saying 20/20 vision for the new year I don’t think this is what we had in mind. For my generation in particular, this has been one of the toughest years and definitely a year and time we’ll be telling our kids about.

If I’m being honest, I don’t think I paid any attention to the fact the virus was going on in China last year. I woke up one morning and seen it trending. Weeks later, it’s still trending and still the topic on EVERY news channel. Whether it’s about the virus itself, the way its effecting the economy, the stats, etc. If you’re like me, you’re probably tired of hearing about it πŸ™„

Many could argue and discuss the theories they have behind the virus, including myself, but fact of the matter is that lives are being lost and many of us aren’t taking it as serious as we should. People are jumping from house to house having cookouts, kickbacks, etc. not realizing the harm they’re around or bringing to the others around them. Remember that saying as a kid? “If that one person doesn’t do what they’re told, everyone has to suffer” or however it goes πŸ˜‚ Point is, the individuals that aren’t social distancing and following the #StayAtHome order are causing the rest of us to suffer. Cases and deaths are increasing. The orders are being extended. Proms, weddings, vacations, graduations are at later dates, if not cancelled. And if we keep taking this as a joke, we won’t have a summer either.

This all sucks, but I’m a believer in there’s always some good attached with the bad. There’s a reason for EVERYTHING God does. As humans, from the time our alarms go off in the morning until it’s time to lay our heads down at night, we are on the go. Ask yourself, when was the last time you spent so much time with family? When was the last time you were able to really take a breather and get so much “me time”? To take this much time with God? Don’t think I’m clueless, because I definitely realize with school being closed not all kids are getting meals and domestic cases are increasing. However, aside from that, this a time to really cherish your loved ones and realize the important things we are missing out on because we’re usually always “on the go.” Not to mention, other acts of crimes such as; murders, robberies, and wrecks have declined.

The coronavirus/COVID-19 is and has changed the way we are and going to live life. Some countries and states are adjusting to the new way sooner than others, as well as certain individuals. However, we can’t think too far in the future. We have to take one day at at time and do the best we can for our family and community. Now. Today. In the present.

Stay at home as much as you can. If you have to go out, wear a mask and social distant yourself from others (6ft apart). Wash your hands (20 seconds) more than you usually do. Check on each other. Stay prayed up. Regardless of the trying times, keep pushing because better days are to come πŸ€žπŸ½πŸ’―
