Harriet Tubman was born in Maryland as Araminta Ross. It wasn’t until later that she adopted the name, Harriet and last name Tubman from her first husband, John Tubman. Her parents Harriet Green and Ben Ross made Harriet one of nine children. Tubman was an American abolitionist and politician. She’s infamous for the freedom that she brought to hundreds of slaves through the Underground Railroad with the help of antislavery activists and safe houses.
However, what many of us didn’t know including myself is that Harriet suffered from seizures after an injury to the head from a slave master. Along with the seizures, Harriet had many vivid dreams that she said was from God Himself that helped her on her journey while guiding the slaves.
