Cat Mom

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted a dog. I’d ask my grandparents multiple times, but my grandma would always say, “when you get your own house, get what you want.” And best believe that’s what I did, lol. However, it wasn’t a dog that I got. Well, I take that back. My boyfriend at the time had gotten a German Sheppard. Her name was Cassie.

Unfortunately, our apartment didn’t allow dogs, only cats. After a lot of convincing, I talked him into letting me get a cat. Never in a million years, I’d consider myself as a cat person. But here there I was, loving on a little cat named Chloe.

When I got her at the Humane Society, she was only a few months old and in April, she’ll be one. A full-blown cat. Chloe has been a joy in my life. COVID has definitely gotten the best of me mentally and Chloe helps keeps me sane. She is full of energy and curiosity. If you’ve ever had a cat then you know the saying, “curiosity killed the cat” can go without saying. Her curiosity definitely gets her in trouble. But its her big, beady eyes that gets her out of it. Chloe has taught me another level of responsibility and budgeting. She’s become another challenge that I have conquered. If I’m being honest, sometimes I still want that dog, because cats are more independent and do their own thing. Whereas, dogs will give you a different type of love and with me having a disability, a dog could help me more than Chloe. I may still get that dog one day, and they’ll just have to get along and learn to love each other, lol. Until then, I’ll keep loving on my Chloe ❤️️
