College

College is much more than studying and going to class. I’m pretty sure a lot of college students would agree that they wish it was that easy. Once you enter college, you’ve entered a new world, especially depending on how far you go. Even if you don’t go far, all it takes is that one friend with a car…next thing you know you could be taking a weekend or day trip to another city in your home state, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, etc. It’s college where you really start to create those friendships that will last a lifetime, and make unforgettable memories. College is where you’ll be in class, look to your left and the person next to you could be from a country you’ve never heard of. Look to your right, and that person could believe in the complete opposite of what you do. Moments like these, are when you decide what your future will hold. You have been given the opportunity to either become that much more optimistic and invite more diversity in your life or; you speak for what you believe in the most respectful way so you won’t offend another. College man, it’s something else.

Before graduating with that degree, I honestly believe that you are that much more confident on who you are. It’s college. Where you have came across a challenge that you weren’t sure you could get through. College is where you have discovered your sense of independence. It’s college where you start to appreciate your parents for either, helping you get to this point, helping you financially and ESPECIALLY those home cooked meals. College is where you will hear or go through at least one event you never thought you would.

College. Man, it’s something else. It’s a place that you hate, but will ultimately fall in love with. College is definitely not for everyone, and that is absolutely okay. For all the people that has started, please don’t give up. As a college student myself, I know firsthand  that it literally has it’s bad and good days. However, when you walk across that stage, you quickly remember why you’re there and that degree with your name on it becomes worth it.
